Who is our customer?
The contracting party is VC4A B.V., registered in the Netherlands, operating as a social venture. Since 2007, VC4A has supported a global community of entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and business professionals, primarily focusing on Africa. VC4A is co-creator and co-host (with ABAN) of the Africa Early-Stage Investor Summit (AESIS), the continent’s leading investor convening.
What is our funding objective?
The funding objective is to support VC4A in hosting the 12th edition of the Africa Early-stage Investor Summit (AESIS 2025) to bring together investors and industry leaders who focus on advancing the early-stage venture capital industry in Africa. The summit aims to facilitate learning, and ecosystem-building through online and in-person sessions, investor meetups, and host the FMO Ventures & Friends Investor Experience side event at the event.
Why do we fund this investment?
This project aligns with the FMO Ventures Program Technical Assistance Facility's goals of building and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The summit provides a unique opportunity for FMO to engage with key stakeholders in the African venture capital space, contribute to market development, and be positioned as a knowledge partner in fostering deeper connections between entrepreneurs and investors. Many of our ecosystem partners will also be in attendance, presenting another valuable opportunity for the FMO Ventures Program to support the ecosystem by bringing key stakeholders together. At the same time, it allows us to promote our FMO Ventures work, highlight our role in market creation, and continue driving impact within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. AESIS 2025 is a one-of-a-kind convening that focuses solely on the venture capital early-stage investing ecosystem in Africa, and FMO Ventures Program’s sponsorship ensures visibility, portfolio inclusion, and content contributions that would otherwise not occur.
