Who is our customer

AgFunder Inc. which owns and manages AgFunder News (AFN) Africa to which FMO’s funding is dedicated.

What is our funding objective?

The funding objective is to help further develop AgFunder News (AFN) Africa and establish the platform as a dedicated Africa content channel for agrifoodtech investment news and research that leverages a network of local journalists and content partnerships with ecosystem peers.

Why do we fund this investment?

FMO funds this project as an activity under the Community Engagement, Component 1(c), strategy of the FMO Ventures Program (FVP) Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) funded by the European Commission with the objective of bringing together our partners and other key industry stakeholders to platforms for learning and exchange and through locally hosted websites/events/workshops. The project with AgFunder aligns with this objective by providing more news coverage, reporting and data collection on African agriculture and food technologies (agrifoodtech) to a global audience in the hope of building a cohesive African agribusiness ecosystem by bringing more investment to the sector and driving adoption of promising technologies across the continent.
