PMO department is looking for a PMO Portfolio Officer to proactively support the delivery of FMO’s project/initiative portfolio and enhance our project management and change capabilities. In addition, you will also be involved as project manager during the preparation phase of (potential) new projects and execution of (smaller) projects.
To be successful in this role, you need a strong change management profile, a solid grasp of portfolio & project management, and stakeholder management skills. You should be comfortable operating in complex, high-pressure environments. You should be adaptable in your communication style, and capable of having courageous dialogues at all levels in the FMO organization.
Together with others in the PMO team, you will:
Prepare the PMO Management Board meetings by ensuring they have the right (amount of) information to make strategic decisions.
Ensure alignment of projects and programs with strategic business goals.
Facilitate and support the annual and quarterly selection process of new projects/initiatives.
Monitoring projects/initiatives and their progress (risks, issues, resourcing, mitigating actions, etc.)
Support the project/initiative owners throughout the submission process of formal documentation, including performing quality control.
Align and give proactive advice regarding interdependencies, resourcing and draft root causes, scenarios and solution proposals on portfolio level.
Continuously improve and embed guidelines, methodologies, and procedures.
Challenge Project Managers, Projects Owners, Steercos, etc. to get the best value for projects and portfolio.
Next to the portfolio role you will also act as a project manager, in the preparation phase of (potential) new projects and in the execution of smaller projects.
This role is within Scale 10 in FMO with a gross annual salary of 80-85K, depending on your experience.

The Project Management Office (PMO) team monitors, tracks, advises, and reports on the performance and progress of FMO’s portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives at the enterprise level. It supports project/initiative owners and project managers in planning and delivery, addressing issues and risks, and providing insights on dependencies and synergies. The PMO leads the annual and quarterly selection process of new projects and initiatives enabling informed decision making by the Management Board.
You will be part of the PMO team, consisting of a manager, four project managers, three portfolio officers, a project officer, and a portfolio analyst. Your working environment at FMO is a challenging one, covering areas like Risk, Finance, ESG, Impact, Operations and Front Office. Our projects usually have a high degree of IT, Process and Data Management complexity. FMO has an ambitious strategy, project portfolio and digitalization roadmap requiring strengthening of internal project management and change capabilities.
To be successful in this role, you should possess: HBO or University master level of education.
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience as PMO professional.
Strong change management profile with experience in both Agile and Waterfall projects and portfolio management.
Solid understanding of project, program and portfolio planning and delivery.
Solid analytical skills with attention to detail.
Adaptable communication style and ability to persuade stakeholders at all levels including C – level executives
Excellent presentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
