The Stakeholder Engagement Officer’s role is as diverse as the role of the team. You are responsible for different types of tasks, ranging from but not limited to:
This job is within Scale 8 in FMO, and you will be hired as a "Stakeholder Engagement Officer". This is a 0.8 FTE position, which means you will work 32 hours per week, 4 days per week.

The CSE department is a busy hub where a lot of different workstreams related to our diverse internal and external stakeholder fields come together. Often predictable, but sometimes with very tight turnaround times due to last-minute requests, requirements, and developments. We quite like the buzz that comes with this dynamic.
Our department consists of two teams:
The department has 14 team members, including a management team of a Director and a Manager.
You will be part of the Stakeholder Engagement team.
At the Corporate Stakeholder Engagement (CSE) department, we help build trusted relationships with national and international stakeholders, including the Dutch government, civil society, European Commission, peers, knowledge partners, customers, and investees.
We are also responsible for FMO’s internal and external corporate communication, including media relations. We bring our expertise to life, share our successes and dilemmas, and bring the outside world in. Part of our external communication is the disclosure of all proposed investments on our website, as an open invitation to stakeholders to come forward with questions or concerns. This is an essential part of FMO’s ambition to be transparent and accountable.
You have 3–5 years of experience in reputation management, corporate communication, and stakeholder engagement. You have earned a university degree in social studies, international relations, international law, public administration, or political science. You have a well-developed political and social antenna, combined with a strong interest in international news and geopolitical developments.
You have excellent proficiency in English and outstanding writing skills, with Dutch language skills considered a valuable asset. You have strong organizational abilities, an instinct for bringing structure to dynamic environments, and a sharp eye for detail that ensures quality in everything you do.
You are a team player at heart, someone who thrives in collaboration while bringing initiative and independence to your work. You are self-starting, with a strong sense of when consultation or escalation is necessary, and you feel comfortable asking questions or seeking advice when needed.
You are opportunity-focused, adaptable, calm and graceful in demanding situations knowing how to prioritize; solution-oriented; always proactive in finding ways forward.
