Who is our customer?
Included VC is a mission-driven venture capital institute and fellowship platform established to broaden access into venture capital for talent from communities that are often overlooked or excluded by traditional pathways. Included VC has been running a global, fully funded fellowship model for several years, combining structured learning (e.g., masterclasses and foundational VC training), mentorship, and practical investing simulations (including investment committee-style exercises), delivered primarily in a part-time format.
What is our funding objective?
The funding objective of this FMO Partnership Development Contribution is to support Included VC in improving the quality of venture capital talent within African VC firms by enabling Investment Analysts, Associates, and equivalent roles to participate in the Included VC Africa Investor Fellowship Pilot.
Why do we fund this investment?
We fund this project because strengthening talent and execution capabilities is important for supporting the continued growth and long-term sustainability of the African venture capital ecosystem. Analysts and Associates are key contributors to day-to-day investment processes, including sourcing, diligence, investment analysis, and investment committee preparation. While many firms invest in developing their teams, structured and consistent professional development pathways for this talent pool are not yet widely available across the market.
