Who is our customer?

The contracting party is Innovation Media Ltd, the organizer delivering Africa Tech Summit Nairobi and a range of other events which supports African entrepreneurs and investors.

What is our funding objective?

The funding objective is to support Innovation Media Ltd in hosting the Africa Tech Summit Nairobi 2026 and 2027, bringing together investors, founders, corporates, development finance institutions, and ecosystem leaders who are shaping the growth of Africa’s technology and venture capital landscape. The summit aims to facilitate knowledge sharing, relationship building, and ecosystem strengthening through conference sessions, curated networking opportunities, investor and founder meet-ups, and thought leadership activities. The sponsorship will also enable FMO Ventures to actively participate in the event, deepen engagement with key stakeholders, support the dissemination of priority knowledge products, and reinforce its role as a long-term partner in advancing innovation and entrepreneurship across Africa.

Why do we fund this investment?

This project aligns with the FMO Ventures Program Technical Assistance Facility's goals of building and strengthening entrepreneurial and investment ecosystems across Africa. Africa Tech Summit Nairobi provides a unique platform for FMO to engage with key stakeholders in the African technology, innovation, and venture capital landscape, including fund managers, founders, corporates, development finance institutions, and ecosystem enablers. The summit offers an important opportunity to contribute to market development by facilitating knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration, and supporting stronger connections between entrepreneurs, investors, and other market participants. The event also serves as a strategic platform for FMO Ventures to position itself as a long-term ecosystem partner and knowledge contributor, showcasing its work in market creation, venture capital ecosystem development, and support to entrepreneurs across emerging markets. Many of FMO Ventures’ existing and prospective ecosystem partners are expected to participate, creating valuable opportunities to deepen relationships, generate new partnerships, and convene relevant stakeholders around shared opportunities and challenges facing the African innovation ecosystem. Through sponsorship and active participation, FMO Ventures will be able to amplify its thought leadership, promote key market insights and knowledge products, and strengthen its visibility within one of Africa’s leading technology and investment convenings.
