Who is our customer?

Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas Cooperativa Limitada (“ACA”) is an Argentinian second-tier cooperative, founded in 1922. The Cooperative brings together more then 130 first-degree cooperatives through which they reach over 50,000 farmers. ACA is Argentina’s largest grains originator and the largest agricultural inputs supplier. ACA furthermore provides logistics through owned assets and it trades to a limited extent for its own account. Fundacion Nodos (“Nodos”), the project's implementor, is a foundation that contributes to the development of individuals, the strengthening of cooperative organizations, and the communities where they operate. Nodos is made up of four cooperatives including our customer, ACA, which holds 50% control of the foundation. Its purpose is to strengthen and develop the cooperative ecosystem and the communities in which it operates through strategies that foster learning, transformation, and sustainable growth.

What is our funding objective?

The project aims to strengthen the governance and management capabilities of ACA and its member cooperatives by enhancing leadership roles, developing managerial skills, and fostering strategic foresight. It also seeks to facilitate intergenerational transition and promote continuous learning and capacity building through dynamic methodologies and digital transformation. Ultimately, the project ensures the long-term sustainability and growth of the cooperative network while preserving cooperative values.

Why do we fund this investment?

We wish to strengthen ACA's governance and management capabilities, at both the first- and second-tier cooperative level, ensuring the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the cooperative network. By investing in capacity building and strategic foresight, FMO can enhance the resilience and impact of ACA, ultimately supporting economic development and inclusive growth in the agricultural sector in Argentina.
