Who is our customer

Bank of Georgia on one of the largest privately owned banks in Georgia.

What is our funding objective?

By financing the bank and improving the capital base, it is able to extend scarce financing and development of the SME-sector in Georgia.

Why do we fund this investment?

With this transaction, we can support our longstanding client Bank of Georgia with long term funding and, through our syndicate, bring new investors to Georgia. The financing will not only improve the capital base of the bank but also be used to extend scarce financing and development of the SME-sector in Georgia. This will generate more tax income in Georgia. Further new jobs will be created in the country.

What is the Environmental and Social categorization rationale?

FMO is supporting the Banks E&S function with CD.
