Who is our customer

The Project is a 48.15MW run-of-river hydroelectric power plant located 20km from the city of Macas, in the Southeast of Ecuador on the Upano river. The project will provide renewable, reliable, and competitively priced energy to the Ecuadorian electricity grid. Long term financing is scarce in Ecuador while the potential for hydroelectric plants is enormous.

What is our funding objective?

This CD Project aims to develop and implement the Environmental Flow Management Plan (EFMP) prior to the Project being operational.

Why do we fund this investment?

By developing and implementing an EFMP the environmental sustainability of the Project will improve. This is in line with FMO's strategic priority to promote responsible investment and support those clients that are willing to be a leader on Environmental and Social management.
