Who is our customer

Danper is an agribusiness company in Peru and leading exporter of fresh and canned fruits & vegetables to high-end markets across the world.

What is our funding objective?

This project aims to support Danper in managing its water resources in a sustainable manner. One of the core E&S risks identified for the company is the uncertainty of groundwater availability and the water quality on one of the sites owned by Danper, the Fundo Compositan farm ('Compositan Field'). At the same time, part of the funds will be used for the emergency situation caused by heavy rainfall and floodings in the area of Danper's operations.

Why do we fund this investment?

While Peru accounts for about four percent of the world's annual renewable water resources, over 98% of its water is available east of the Andes, in the Amazon region. The coastal area of Peru, that has most of Peru's economic activities and is home to more than half of the population, receives only 1.8% of the national freshwater renewable water resources. Economic and population growth are taking an increasing toll on water resources quantity and quality, especially in the coastal area.
