Who is our customer

Bai Tushum Bank (BTB) was established as a non-profit microcredit agency with a social mission to finance and service vulnerable groups. The company received a full banking license in November 2012 and was the first microfinance institution to receive a banking license in Kyrgyzstan. BTB is women-led and the banks’ core business is to finance (M)SMEs, primarily involved in agricultural and trading activities. In addition to being women-led, 38% of the borrowers are women.

What is our funding objective?

The objective of this project is to support the design and customization of an online platform and mobile applications that give BTB’s (prospective) clients in the agricultural sector access to finance, knowledge and networks.

Why do we fund this investment?

This project will give BTB a unique opportunity to position itself as a bank that goes beyond regular banking services. This platform will improve BTB’s ability to reach out to new clients and to generate new business by offering its client and prospective clients valuable information and access to financial services. At the same time, the bank will contribute to the sustainable development of MSMEs.
