Who is our customer

Prime Bank Limited (PBL) is a commercial bank in Bangladesh with a strong focus on corporate banking via both conventional and Islamic modes. With the Bangladeshi economy built on SMEs and providing large potential for SME banking, PBL is now also increasingly focused on this banking sector.

What is our funding objective?

FMO will provide long-term funding to support the growth of the bank's SME portfolio. The finance will also be used to promote general long-term lending, with a minimum of 50% to be applied towards onlending to SMEs.

Why do we fund this investment?

Long-term USD funding remains scarce in Bangladesh. FMO's loan therefore fills a funding gap. The loan also aims to promote economic development by earmarking (at least) 50% of FMO funding for SME lending.
