news - FMO publishes Updated Sustainability Policy Universe

FMO updated today its Sustainability Policy and complementing Position Statements on its website. The documents have been subjected to a technical update to bring it in alignment with approved policies and commitments since its initial publication in 2017, while also reducing the risk of inconsistencies within our policy Universe and with other policies. 

FMO’s Sustainability Policy guides its contribution to sustainable development and is in line with our vision of a world in 2050 where over 9 billion people can live well and within the planetary boundaries. It is the leading document in the FMO Sustainable Policy Universe and guides all FMO’s actions. Position statements are an integral part of the FMO Sustainability Policy Universe: the statements explain FMO’s choices in relation to major global sustainability issues and further explain how we select investments, work with clients and other stakeholders, and monitor performance. 

With this Technical update, the policies reflect the most recently approved policies, commitments, and Strategy 2030 language, and no longer include outdated or incorrect references. Furthermore, we have also brought additional clarity and consistency in the Universe with this update. Do note that it is not the intention to change ambitions or change policies that have not been approved by our Management Board before.
