Six Paris Agreement signatories submit long-term climate strategies

September 12, 2017

Countries that have signed up to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change are invited to communicate their long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies, and Benin, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico and the US have already done so.

This working paper from the World Resources Institute analyses the approaches of the six countries in order to provide guidance to policymakers elsewhere in drafting their own strategies. It concludes that while mitigation priorities are similar in the six countries, they address finance and climate change adaptation quite differently.
