From 8 to 12 May 2016, FMO hosted the Green Microfinance Study Tour in Bangladesh. The program was organized for FMO’s clients eager to learn best practices and to share experience in the field of green microfinance, including financing solar and biogas based solutions as well as energy efficiency.
The week exposed participants to best practices in Bangladesh, one of the most mature green microfinance markets that currently exists. The booming economic growth, rapid urbanization, incremental industrialization, and development have increased the energy demand but also the energy innovation within Bangladesh. The study tour included interactive classroom sessions, field visits and peer to peer knowledge sharing with as purpose to create awareness on current marketing development and exchange knowledge. FMO hosted clients from Cambodia, India and Bangladesh.
