How can countries use technology to measure poverty?

In order to meet the targets laid out by the Sustainable Development Goals, data to measure development finance progress is now more important than ever. The OECD Development Cooperation Report believes new technology and the data revolution can be harnessed to improve collection of information to inform decision makers. Recommendations include setting up legal frameworks to enable the collection, spread, and use of data, increasing financing, improving the capacities of existing infrastructure, international investment in country-led data gathering systems and increasing the quality of data itself.
