The Independent Complaints Mechanism's ongoing collaborative process of engagement announced in April 2024 has been extended to ensure appropriate levels of participation by relevant internal stakeholders, and as a result the commencement of the public consultation process originally planned for November 2024 has been delayed.
The current timeline aims to commence the public consultation process in the first quarter of 2025. The public consultation process will include: provision of an open portal to receive comments; online webinars; engagements with local communities, NGO’s and experts; and collaboration with various CSO platforms to ensure people are made aware of the consultation process.
The Development Finance Institutions are committed to providing sufficient time to conduct the consultation, and to ensure meaningful consideration of the comments received. More details about the consultation process will be provided in due course.
