news - The potential of carbon capture, transport, usage and storage

This pre-feasibility assessment carried out by Ecofys examines whether the creation of a CO2 smart grid system, incorporating carbon capture and usage as well as storage, is feasible in the Netherlands. It analyses the climate benefits of establishing such a system, the potential for CO2 re-use, and the possible impact of such a system over five and 10 years.

It concludes that immediate benefits can be gained by using CO2 as an input for the country’s large horticultural sector, as well as making the Netherlands a global leader in carbon storage technology.
