Privacy Policy


Your privacy is important to FMO. Therefore, we will process your personal data with care. This privacy statement will explain which personal data we collect from you, with which purpose, who we share this personal data with and how we secure it. This privacy statement applies to website visitors, registrants to our events and job applicants.

What is personal data?

Personal data is any data that can identify an individual. Someone is identifiable if his or her identity can be established without disproportionate effort. Both data used to directly identify a person (such as name and address) as data used to indirectly identify a person (pseudonymous data, IP addresses etc) count as personal data.

Personal data processed by FMO

FMO processes different categories of personal data in the course of its business activities. We collect personal data through the contact form and complaint form on our website. We also collect personal data via our events module. In addition, if you agree to this, we place cookies in your web browser. Below we inform you briefly what information we collect and for what purpose.

Personal data collected through the website
Contact form Our website offers the possibility to fill in a contact form. With this contact form FMO records and processes the following personal data:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Region and country
  • Finance needed (amount)
  • Your question or complaint

The information and data which you provide by filling in the contact form are only used to answer or handle your question or complaint. If necessary, we will use the information in order to contact you in the context of this question.


A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is usually a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while a user is browsing a website. When the user browses the same website in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify the website of the user's previous activity. DoubleClick uses cookies to improve advertising. Some common applications of DoubleClick cookies are targeted advertising based on the interest of a user, to improve reporting on campaign performance and prevent ads from showing which has already been seen by the user.  

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system that allows you to quickly and easily update tags and code snippets on your website or mobile app, such as those intended for traffic analysis and marketing optimization. The tag management system reduces errors and frees FMO from having to involve a developer when configuring tags.  

Google Analytics

FMO uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies” to help FMO analyse how users use our site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for FMO and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.   Google and all its subsidiaries, such as Google Analytics and Doubleclick, abide by the EU-US Privacy Shield.


AddThis is the world's largest social infrastructure and data platform owned by Oracle Corporation. The tools of AddThis collect information from visitors to websites or mobile device applications. This information does not directly identify an individual and is instead designed to identify the devices used by visitors. However, in certain circumstances, the visitor may opt to share their email address with AddThis to facilitate the services. These email addresses are not used for online behavioural advertising.

FMO uses AddThis to facilitate the sharing of content via social media, such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. The AddThis tools use third party cookies to manage user sharing preferences and as part of its user measurements and analytics features. These cookies are set on the domain. The AddThis website and tools set its own cookies. Finally, the AddThis tools may expose visitors to various advertising partners, who may in turn set cookies themselves. Any cookies delivered in this way will only be set on the partner's domain.

Identification via a personal unique code

FMO’s website may also place cookies when log-in is completed for the first time. This cookie contains a unique code. It will assist you in using the full functionality of the site such as registering for an event you were invited to. Any personal information you provide to FMO via our website is not stored in the cookie, but is kept in the data warehouse behind our site. Your personal information is not transferred to any third party.

Social media buttons

On our website we provide you with buttons in order to share a webpage on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. These buttons work through a code owned by the respective social network company. This code will place a cookie on your hard drive. We have no control over this code or cookie and thus refer you to their policies (which change frequently).  

However, as far as we are aware, the information collected through these cookies is, or is made, anonymous and transferred to the respective issuer of the cookie.

Personal data obtained in a different manner

Events of FMO: With regards to registrants of our events, FMO records personal data of interested or invitees who register for our events. These personal data are provided by the invitee or registrants on their own initiative, when they register themselves for the event. From registrants the following data is stored:

  • Name, address and residence details
  • Phone number
  • E-mail address or other electronic communications
  • Gender, date of birth and / or age
  • Specific event information, needed in order to organize the event. Such as seminars which they would like to attend, dietary wishes, etc.  

Job applicants/candidates:
FMO records personal data of candidates that may or may not be interested in working with FMO. These personal data are collected either passively (through the website) as active (on LinkedIn). If it appears that a suitable candidate is not interested, only the name of the person is recorded in order to prevent this person is approached again. From interested candidates, the following data is stored:

  • Name, address and residence details
  • Phone number
  • E-mail address or other electronic communications
  • Gender, date of birth and / or age
  • Profile of the candidate / job applicant  

Security and data protection

To protect your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal data, FMO implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures. To prevent misuse of personal data through the website, we have enabled encryption on our website. Through this encryption, the data traffic between you and the webserver is inaccessible for unauthorised parties.

In addition, the entire network infrastructure is scanned for viruses, malware and intrusion attempts. The managing and protection of personal data is based on the internationally recognized security standard ISO 27001. Regular check-ups of FMO’s infrastructure and the security processes are done by independent auditors.  

Right to access, addition, correction and deletion You have the right to access your own personal data. You can submit a request to FMO to review which personal data was recorded about you and for what purposes. To verify your identity, we ask you to send a copy of your identity card or driving license. It is advisable to cover the social security number and photograph and write the word ‘copy’ on it.

Data retention

FMO will not store personal data longer than necessary for the purposes of the processing. We will keep the personal information that you provide to us via the contact form as long as necessary to handle your question or complaint.

Personal information provided by job applicants will be stored until four weeks after the application process is ended or one year if the personal data is being stored with the consent of the data subject.

With regards to personal information provided by registrants for events of FMO, until a request for the removal of the data is made or one year after the relationship between data subject and FMO is ceased.
