Your role

This role is addressed to our existing HR Business Partners.

As a Senior HR Business Partner at FMO, you are a strategic advisor, a catalyst for change and an expert on HR Business Partner content related topics. You work closely with senior leadership to shape and drive our people strategy, ensuring that HR practices align with FMO’s mission, values, and long-term goals. You lead by example, role-modelling the behaviors that foster a culture of trust, feedback, and continuous improvement. You can proactively advise and support (senior) leadership on a variety of people- and change related issues.  

You take full ownership of key HR domains - such as sick leave, legal matters, employee relations, and the People & Culture Plan - ensuring these areas are strategically aligned, data-driven, and operationally sound. You leverage insights and analytics to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and guide continuous improvement and effective decision-making. But you don’t just manage them - you elevate them. With a sharp eye on data and trends, you turn insights into action, driving smarter decisions and continuous improvement. Sharing best practices and fostering a culture of learning and (cross-functional) collaboration. 

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables 

  • Act as a strategic HR business partner on a strategic topic for leadership and employees in specific departments, in close collaboration with Talent & development, HR Services, Talent Acquisition Legal, and other stakeholders. 

  • Translate FMO’s vision, mission, and values into actionable HR strategies and initiate and drive organizational change initiatives. 

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes related to HR policies and key HR domains and programs that address business needs and enhance the employee value proposition and employee experience.  

  • Assume process and functional ownership of key HR areas (e.g., sick leave, performance management, legal, employee relations), ensuring frameworks, procedures, and KPIs are in place and effective. 

  • Be the lead contact point for other (senior) HR colleagues to foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation. 

  • Provide expert guidance on complex HR matters and employee cases, coach HRBPs to build capability and confidence and foster trust with employees and the broader organization. 

  • Act as a senior advisor to managers and HR-colleagues for change management, in developing change and communication plans and dealing with any resistance. 

  • Take ownership of the overarching People & Culture Plans, including setting up frameworks, processes, and data analysis to monitor and improve key KPIs. 

  • Take ownership of a directorate in addition to senior tasks, ensuring that HRBP work within the directorate is completed on time and to a high standard. 

Our offer

  • Competitive Compensation: Within Scale 12 in FMO, for full-time (40 hours per week) between 122.000 and 130.000 EUR, annual gross pay (incl. 8% holiday allowance), depending on your skills and experience.  

  • Work-Life Balance: 31 vacation days per year (full-time employment) with the option to buy (up to 10) extra holidays and sell holidays  

  • Remote Work Flexibility: Work remotely abroad for up to 60 working days in a 12-month period 

  • Hybrid Work Model: 50/50 office and remote work 

  • Pension Plan: pension contribution of 20% of your pension base paid by FMO

Your team

You will be part of the HR Business Partnering team together with three other direct colleagues, HR Business Partners as well.  Your reporting line will be to the Manager HR Business Partnering.  The HR Business Partnering Team is part of the HR department, working closely with the Talent & Development team.  The HR department consists of twenty-five passionate professionals in the domain of HR Services, Talent Acquisition, HR specialists, Talent & Development, and HR Business Partners.

Collaboration is at the heart of this team’s success. Whether partnering with the rest of our colleagues within HR or the rest of the business, you will play a key role as strategic advisor, a catalyst for change and HR expert working together with senior leadership to drive the people strategy, ensure HR practices aligned with FMO's mission and values and lead by example.

Your background

Key Experience: 

  • Proven experience in acting as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership, shaping and driving people strategies that align with organizational goals. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support organizational change initiatives, including developing communication plans and addressing resistance. 

  • Experience in providing input for the continuous improvement of HR policies, processes, and programs, ensuring they meet business needs and enhance employee experience. 

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in key HR areas such as health and wellbeing, legal matters (Dutch labor law), employee relations, and the overarching People & Culture elements. 

  • Proficiency in using insights and analytics to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and guide HR decision-making. 

Key Skills/Competencies: 

  • Ability to lead by example, role-modeling behaviors that foster a culture of trust, feedback, and continuous improvement. 

  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with HR Services, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and other stakeholders, and excellent communication skills to convey HR strategies and initiatives effectively. 

  • Capability to coach and support HRBPs and other HR colleagues, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of learning and cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Strong analytical skills to leverage data and insights for decision-making and problem-solving. Ability to adapt to changing business needs and environments, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
