The JIM enables its members (primarily International Finance Institutions) to estimate the impact of their investments by tracing financial flows through the economy. This analysis captures the resulting economic (value added), social (employment), and environmental (greenhouse gas emissions) impacts.

Launched by FMO and other international finance institutions in 2021, the foundation works towards harmonization of key indicators to build accountability and steer financing in the US$140tn finance sector.

Your background

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, data science, business administration, sustainable finance).
  • 5 years’ experience in development economics, finance, ESG, financial service industry, and/or impact measurement frameworks.
  • Strong foundation in economic modelling.
  • Understanding of Python for economic modelling, data processing and scientific computing, and capable of translating technical content for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Flexibility, comfortable in a start-up environment, willing to travel, and fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with IO or CGE models using Python or other programming languages.
  • Experience working with international datasets such as GTAP, WIOD, EXIOBASE, CEDA, Climate TRACE, EMBER, FAOStat and others.
  • Understanding of impact modelling (e.g., financed emissions, jobs supported, value-added).
