Fighting ultra-poverty around the world

Nearly 400 million people around the world live in a state of ultra-poverty, which is considerably lower than the global extreme poverty rate of $1.90 a day. Some 80% of the ultra-poor live in 14 countries. This analysis defines the exact deprivations included in the designation and identifies the countries with the best-and-worst potential to combat it.

The report also addresses the multi-sector efforts that need to be scaled up in order to achieve the 2030 UN goal of ending all extreme poverty around the world.
