news - World Resources Institute targets metrics for financing of low-carbon transition

Global demand for water is increasing by 1% a year due to economic and social pressures, while the water cycle is under further pressure as a result of the effects of climate change. The United Nations World Water Development Report 2018 advocates the adoption of nature-based solutions to water management issues, which it says can yield sustainable benefits including improving the availability and quality of water and reducing risks from extreme weather events caused by climate change.
