This role is scaled in 10, see Personnel Guide.
At FMO, we're dedicated to expanding our impact through strategic partnerships. We collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including commercial banks, asset managers, and development finance institutions (DFIs) to amplify the effectiveness of our financial solutions.
The Syndications team within the Partnerships for impact department plays a key role in this respect as it is responsible for all loan syndications. One of FMO’s main mobilization instruments are Unfunded Risk Sharing Programs (URPs) with global insurance companies. By guaranteeing individual loans, these URPs enhance our debt capacity, accelerating our mission to create lasting impact through financial solutions. We leverage our own funding with funding from co-investors such as commercial banks, asset managers and other development.
Ultimately URPs significantly contribute to FMO’s private capital mobilization strategy.
The Syndications team consists of 15 employees divided over three groups in the areas of Syndications (7 persons), Agency desk (5 persons), URP (1 person) and a Management Assistant all reporting to the Manager Syndications. Our team is looking for a Portfolio Officer (PO) for the URPs. The PO will enable enhanced portfolio management activities and the continued delivery of impeccable service to URPs in existing and new URPs.
FMO IM is looking for a candidate who has ample experience with FMO loans in focus sectors, ideally gained in a prior role as Senior Portfolio Analyst or Associate. Requirements include strong analytical skills with appropriate attention to detail and accuracy. Furthermore, good communication skills are important as the role requires frequent interaction with colleagues in FMO’s front office and mid office, as well as acting as first point of contact towards the existing URPs.
The PO works closely with the Syndications colleagues within the team and FMO IM team within P4i, whose members have a team player mentality, a drive for quality and a flexible attitude towards working hours. URPs is a growing product within FMO. Therefore, a shared sense of responsibility and a ‘getting things done’ mentality is crucial. The URP partners expect impeccable service, discipline and quality, which team members should view as inspiring rather than burdensome. Apart from analytical capabilities and experience, the PO should have strong skills in planning, organizing and prioritizing.
