Management Board members

Nanno Kleiterp (1953)

Nanno Kleiterp was appointed as CEO and Chairman of the Management Board in 2008. Before that, he was responsible for FMO’s risk-bearing profile as Chief Investment Officer from 2000. From 1987–2000, he held a number of positions within FMO, including Manager Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises, Regional Manager Latin America and Chief Finance Officer. Prior to FMO, he gained extensive experience in private-sector development while working in Nicaragua, Mexico and Peru.

Jurgen Rigterink (1964)

Jurgen Rigterink joined FMO’s Management Board as Chief Investment Officer in 2008. Prior to this, he worked as Chairman of the Management Board and Country Executive Kazakhstan at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (previously ABN AMRO Holding N.V.). He has extensive international banking experience at Bank Brussels Lambert and ABN AMRO. He has worked in Belgium, the US, Germany and other countries and, since the beginning of 2005, in Kazakhstan.

Nico Pijl (1951)

Nico Pijl was appointed Chief Risk & Finance Officer in 2005. From 1986-2005, he held a variety of positions within FMO, including Chief Portfolio Officer, Regional Manager Latin America & the Caribbean and later Asia. Prior to FMO, he worked for six years at the World Bank and three years for the United Nations in West Africa.
