Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) policy

FMO strives to achieve positive sustainable development outcomes through our investments. We view our clients as important partners in achieving our development mandate. We team up with clients and partners who share our vision and commitment to sustainable development and who wish to improve their ability to manage E&S issues within their business activities, which at the same time provides them with the potential opportunity to enhance their own competitive advantage.

FMO’s ESG Policy comprises of 2 parts:

  • FMO’s Corporate Governance Policy, focusing on the narrow definition of corporate governance.  It also briefly discusses FMO’s compliance policy, focusing on the standing and integrity of FMO’s investee companies, their shareholders, board of directors and employees.
  • FMO’s Environmental and Social Policy, further elaborating on the rights and responsibilities of 'the other stakeholders': employees, the environment, local communities, vendors, contractors and (ultimate) clients.
